Times of change, such as morning to a new school can be difficult for any child.

We plan ahead to ensure that pupils with additional needs have a successful transition. This includes sharing information in advance so that the new school is aware of individual needs and can make their own preparations, this may include securing resources or arranging training for staff.

In some cases the outside agencies who support us also liaise with the new school to advise them of your child's needs and how they can be supported.

Where appropriate additional visits are made for pupils to visit their new schools to familiarise themselves with the premises and get to know the key staff. Photographs maybe taken.

In addition meetings may be arranged for parents to meet the SENCo or mentor.
