Message From The Head

07 September 2015

We have started the new term with new teachers and new children getting to know each other.

We have a new fitness area in the playground which will add to playtime activities and be used in PE.

We have begun a different approach in classrooms linked with the creative, themed curriculum which we hope your children will enjoy.  Their homework is linked to the theme and gives them some opportunity for choice of activities and challenge. It also provides flexibility of timing to fit better with family commitments.

During our training days the staff agreed their vision for learning at Uplands.  We have already shared it with the children and hope you support us as we work with your children.

At Uplands Junior L.E.A.D Academy we are passionate about enjoying our learning.

We believe in creating an environment where everyone feels valued, success is

celebrated and good practice is shared.

We foster a culture of lifelong learning and encourage enquiring minds.

New Interim Executive Board

02 June 2015

Many of you will be aware that the Secretary of State has decided not to extend the local authority’s Interim Executive Board (IEB) at Uplands Junior L.E.A.D Academy, which expired on 29 May. Instead, the Secretary of State has decided to form her own IEB from 30 May to help the school build on existing improvements and make further improvements more rapidly. She believes that this will be the best way to give the school the strategic leadership and expertise it needs so that the school can provide your children with the best possible education.
